Tri-City Cricket Club's mission is to provide a friendly venue for local cricketing talent to engage in the "goodly art" and "wholesome kynde of exercise" that cricket represents. In addition, we hope to promote a greater awareness of the game here in the U.S., as well as reach out to local area schools to introduce the game to them.
Membership in Tri-City hails from the immediate Capital District area of Albany, Schenectady and Troy, NY.
We play our home matches at a Kailberg Field in Schenectady, NY. (The city was planning to renovate our previous ground, which was at Central Park in Schenectady. However, to date, because of an ongoing fiscal crisis, no progress has been made. We hope to resume play at our old ground sometime in the future, but we are not holding our collective breaths......) The grounds are located off of Lenox Road in Schenectady, just past Steinmetz Park. Our pitch consists of crushed stone, lime & clay covered by matting, which provides a good, compact surface that plays true. Our season runs from May to October, weather and field conditions permitting.
Practices are held every Friday during the summer at Kailberg
Field, from 5:30pm to dusk. We also travel to other grounds in
places like Syracuse, UMass-Amherst, Long Island, New York City,
Rochester and Montreal.
Any team wishing to contact Tri-City to schedule matches can call or write to the addresses below. We are always eager to find other clubs to exchange matches with.
